The Level 3 Award in Education and Training replaces the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS).
It is aimed at those who are considering a career in education or those who require a formal qualification to support their current training role. It is an introduction into the education sector and will prepare learners with the knowledge and confidence required for teaching within further education or to deliver training within their own workplace.
The course explores the Roles and Responsibilities of the Trainer, Learning Approaches and the Learning Environment, and Understanding Assessment.
The duration of the course is five days which is delivered one day a week over five weeks. It requires no previous teaching practice however a level 2 in English and maths is recommended. Assessment is through the completion of 3 workbooks and a practical microteach.
At the end of this course you will have gained the knowledge and skills to either prepare you for a career within the education sector or to support your role as a trainer.
