1 Day – Understanding Mental Health

Loading Events

This accredited level two qualification will give delegates a good understanding of how Mental Health affects people within the workplace and most importantly, how to offer support, guidance and advice when needed and how to become a good listener.

Within the session, we will look at what Mental Health actually is and once recognised, how we can signpost colleagues to seek the correct help. We will also cover some of the more common Mental Health issues facing us both at home and in the workplace such as depression, self-harming, eating disorders, suicide, stress and anxiety. We discuss the effects of self-medication by drug and alcohol misuse, and the cost to businesses and the employee.

This one-day Mental Health Awareness course runs for seven hours and includes group activities, discussion and assessment through a multiple-choice exam. The qualification is certificated and valid for three years. Progression from this qualification would be to our Mental Health First Aider two day session.
