Within this one-day first aid session, we look at basic lifesaving first aid as an introduction to first aid and a stepping stone to the more in-depth 3 day First Aid at Work session.
You will be taken through the basics of first aid, recognition of signs and symptoms of life-threatening illness, how to carry out CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator), treatment of burns, bleeding and shock, dealing with choking in both adults and children, recognising when to use the recovery position and much more.
To gain this valuable level 3 qualification you must carry out both physical and theoretical tasks by demonstration and a multiple-choice exam.
The qualification is valid for 3 years and refresher sessions are recommended every 12 months after the initial qualification.
